This year there is the 25th anniversary of NEXT Festival! Founded 2000 in Bratislava, the NEXT Festival is an annual celebration of exploratory music and sonic art: from electronic experiments and freeform improvisation to audiovisual projects, it brings together artists who push the boundaries.
NEXT festival is focusing predominantly on innovative musicians who are both composers and performers of their music.
NEXT Festival presents and supports adventurous approaches in music of our time, be it improvised or contemporary classical music, avantgarde jazz, noise, ambient, experimental electronica, audiovisual performances, sonic art, or conceptual projects.
History
Since 2000, NEXT is the annual international festival of new and experimental contemporary music, usually happening during the first December weekend in Bratislava, Slovakia. Its role is twofold: to present the outstanding personalities of the scenes of ‘advanced’ music as well as to give a chance to perform a upcoming artists from Slovakia and neighbouring countries.
