Dutch visual artist, researcher and curator Rosa Menkman is a lecturer at the Art Academy in Kassel. In her work, she creates virtual worlds, peeks under the cover of algorithms that compose our present world and scavenges for accidental results in analogue and digital visual media. An interest in glitch is what joins her with sonic innovator Bolka, a graduate of the Institute of Sonology in The Hague, with whom she now collaborates for the first time. One step ahead in the spirit of her manifesto Vernacular of File Formats.

This new work was commissioned by A4 together with Elevate festival, as part of the international collaborative project Re-Imagine Europe, co-financed by the EU’s Creative Europe Programme.
